Im just wondering how the guys over at http://www.enormousapparatus.com got their look for their short, " Life against Memory" ? I know they used a 35mm adapter, but im talking about thier settings on cam (black levels, chroma, ped, etc.)? Did they manipulate the video in post? Whats the deal? Does anyone know about their adapter?

Re: How'd they do that?

Man that's pretty sweet, I just found a link to my site on their links page...

Those guys are super talented.

Re: How'd they do that?

Yeah, thet did a real good job on their last short. Dare I say, it really looks like 35mm film. Good job guys! 8)

Re: How'd they do that?

is it just me, or does anyone else think it doesn't look like video at all? I mean, the depth of field is obvious, but also the colors. the sky, and the greens, the skin - they don't have the telltale signs of video like the movie below it shot on the same camera. if it's the adapter, then all i can say is - wow!

Re: How'd they do that?

I think it's a little too small in the player to make that kind of judgment. Looks like a number of other DVX projects that have been posted 'round these parts.

Re: How'd they do that?

Anyone got a ballpark figure on cost to make my own adapter like theirs? What about difficulty? On a scale of 1 to 5.

Re: How'd they do that?

Shouldn't be that expensive... definately a LOT cheaper than the P+S Technik ones

I'm wondering how they got those filters stuck together...

Re: How'd they do that?

the filters have threads that would allow them to attatch to other 55mm filter rings

Re: How'd they do that?

Making a similar adapter is being discussed right now in the hardware section. Look for "enormous apparatus" in the subject line. I just finished making mine, but have not had time for testing. Cursed day job.

BTW, cost was around $170, with lens.

Interesting, I'm full of Nikon lenses who could serv me better now. I will have an eye on that. ;)
