Thank you

We had like 5 different lenses,
a 35mm
a 50
an 80
a macro
and an 80 to 200 or something like that.

1) Close Up at 0:09 -
I think I shot this while we were not shooting lol, I was just
setting the focus on the camera before going wide and Geoff "the editor" used the shot. :) That's why you can see the big light behind her. She was sitting at the bar having a drink on break when I did that I'm sure. It looks like the macro lens was on the camera. (Unless this shot came from the other camera, that's what I recall. Can't remember exactly)

2) 0:29 Girl walking:
I'm almost pretty sure I shot this with the 50mm 1.4 and I had the redrock M2E on the HVX200A. All the settings on the camera were on "0" in the scene files and I had the camera on fully manual the whole time.
By the way I don't shoot anything on zero any more. I plugged the camera to my 55 inch HD LED TV at home and messed with the settings until I got to optimal love for me.
And then I recorded something and played it back and it was heaven!
But anyway back to the shot.
There were 2 lights clipped on to the frames in the ceiling.
This night club has frames for their lights and it was pretty good for hanging lights.

All the lighting was done by a guy they call "Coach" I don't personally know him but I have seen him on different sets doing lighting.
I'm pretty sure they were Arri Fresnels with some gels and it wasn't a major setup.
There were like 2 lights pointing down at the area where she was walking.
and the rest of the lights were what ever lights the club had normally.

If you pause at :22 you see the brightness from the light pointing down from the ceiling.
This is where she did the walk from the left area towards the right to the back of the club.

3) Sitting on the car 0:30
That was done on a different day. I was not there for that shot.

4) 0:52 Bar Scene with the girl
that one was done with the letus from about 15ft away, not sure what lens was on the letus. The lights on this were 2. One of them behind them towards the right about 15 feet back and the other to the left directly in front of her with some gels. If I remember correctly those 2 lights were about 8 to 10" in diameter. They look like fresnels but large diameter. Once I put some behind the scenes up you will be able to take a lot more from it.

Thanks for the inquiry, I will try to get you more information over the weekend.

It would be nice if we could have some more details abaut Light Types / KW..

I like the Light Setup very much and I would like to buy a Light kit and don't know what exactly to buy.

wow... This is a hec of quesion! and the answer would take more than about 3 or 4 pages :)

There are a few main parts to this. Capture format, Lenses, sensors, and capture compression to name a few.

I have both a DSLR and the HVX, and I feel that with the HVX I can do anything!
With the DSLR, I can do some cool stuff but limited to a lot of things like shooting live performances or weddings, etc...

The HVX is a 4:2:2 system that captures HD on a P2 card.

well actually better yet, click on this and read the overview: http://catalog2.panasonic.com/webap...=243668&catGroupId=34401&surfModel=AG-HVX200A

and for DSLRs, I know a good read from the cow.
it's 5 pages long, make sure you hit next at the bottom of each page.
here's the link:

I'll see if I can get more details for you on the lights and everything else that I can.

Put Ya Hands Up music video

Here are 2 pictures I found on VMAD's photobucket from the shoot.

This is how the scene was lit when we shot her walking across at :29
and though I have more bts video yet to find, here in the second photo you can see what the lights look like.

In the second photo you see a guy on the left with a black hat sitting at the bar.
Right next to him is where they were sitting when we did the bar scene and that was the light setup plus (like I mentioned b4) another light right in front of the subjects on the other side of the bar.

I saw the 3 lense kit on B&H for around 6K. I just want to know if it is something I should look into.

1. What do the lenses do for the video? Did they help out that much?

2. Did you use a steadicam for the street scene and if so which one?

Video is hot and I'm very impressed. Song is nice as well.
