How/Where do you find a local composer?

I know this site has a lot of wonderful composers (I have had the privilege to work with Herman Witkam twice).

However, I take part in a lot of timed contests 48, 24, and 12 hours long. During these contests there is no time to send your finished film to a composer and wait to receive a score in return. We need a local composer who can be on location with us and working on the score while we film. Then at the end of the day we can marry the two together at the last minute.

Does anyone have any suggestions for where I might look to try and find a local composer in New Jersey to join our team.

I would suggest making the rounds to all of the local music stores and ask if they know anyone who might be interested in film scoring. They might let you post a notice on their bulletin boards if they have one.

Thanks for the suggestion. That's a good idea.

I was hoping there was a web-site were composers and such hang-out, but I guess not.
