How were the effects made in Eminem's Fast Lane video

I'm learning AE and Im assuming that the effects used in Eminem's Fast Lane video could be made in AE (as well as many other programs). Can someone explain if they feel this is doable in AE and can recommend any tutorials or advice on how to do it?

The 1st question is how they took the footage and converted it to a 3d space where they can make the text move on the same axis as the footage (if that makes any sense).

I would imagine that the live action were shot on a greenscreen, or if the shot was in the actual location, that the singer was in front of a portable greenscreen.

There would also be 'plates' of the background shot without singer and greenscreen.

If no greenscreen was used, and rotoscopbing used to cut the singer out, or create a traveling matte, that would be rather tedious... but is done as well...

Anyway... once you have the 'subject' (singer...), cutout somehow someway, you can use the 3-d layer options to create 'pasteboard' 3-d.

After Effects has the ability to give a value to the 'z-axis', which would allow you to place the 'plate', 'text', 'singer', 'moretext' layers at differing z-axis values, thus
giving a simplistic 3-d effect.

There are other tools in AE to allow for the 'busting up of stuff' as well...

I don't at the moment have the time to put in a list of tutorials on this sort of stuff, but I've seen many people reference the site:
