do you think they used just alot of black lights and then the lights in the club? they can use conventional lights for the background, but for the main characheters they had to only use black lights...right?

It's possible, but I bet you can fake that look in Lustre.....

It looks like its practical. The club is lit with a lot of black lights the hallway behind is shaded from the black lights. Theres only one shot with one guy on the left (DMX?) is lit with a red light from one side and a white light from the other. He is probably back far enough that hes not in the black light. Or the white and red was enough to drown out the black light. The guy on the right (Nas?) may be wearing white contacts that will fluoresce. I shot in a club that had a weird ultraviolet light that made everyone's black clothing look red.

it may not be the best movie story wise but visually its amazing. they way he shots and lights are crazy.

yea they had contacts in, he also used this technique on the missy elliot/Mel B(scarry spice) video.

he must have used a whole lot of black lights for that scene to light their faces like that.
