take a look closer at the floor line, you will noticed its not alligned correctly at some frames.
Hes painting a clean plate by hand. in mocha its a easy job to replace the plate.
 
I'd agree with ph2003. Create a clean plate (clean only in the area to be replaced), motion track the original footage and so forth.

As for easy, hahaha, nothing is ever easy due to software issues and bugs always seem to creep into the picture. Everything I do always takes longer than I think due to compatibility issues and the aforementioned.
I digress. But yes, it is easy. Basic stuff really. Photoshops new content aware features can help create a clean plate in minutes. The rest is basically masking the portions and blending modes.
All of this ofcourse assumes one already knows how to do that. If not, those would be the areas to focus on. Also you'll need to know how to composite those layers in a video editor, any video editor, not just AE. Basically, break down the problem into seperate tasks and then solve each task.
