How to?

I need a shot of an explorer discovering a tropical waterfall. I thought I'd get some stock footage of a waterfall and try and match it to a shot I'll create of an actor reacting with awe to the sight of the waterfall. I planned to apply a sepia filter to help match the footage. Just looking for pointers, how to best accomplish this. Again, an explorer discovering a waterfall. I don't have a waterfall, just an explorer.

That could work if the stock footage and your footage come from a similar source. Another idea if your a craft kind of person is to build a model of a waterfall in your backyard and use a hose as the water source. Model train stores have plaster, dirt, grass, and trees you can use. Just a thought.

Finding the right location for your reverse/reaction shot will make a big difference (assuming that you aren't comping him against a background in post).
