How to Zoom in on a clip...

I have a clip that is a wide shot of an audience. I want to be able to zoom in to a particular person in the crowd. I know how to use the ZOOM tool but as far as I know that is just to give you a better look at what your doing in the viewer. Is there a way to zoom in on your clip then drag that perspective of the clip to the timeline?

double click on the clip in the time line, and in the viewer window click the motion tab I think. There are a whole bunch of perameters you can change, including "scale". Bigger the scale, the more zoomed in you are. :)

Easiest to do it from the timeline. Drag the clip in question into the timeline, position your playhead within the clip so you can see the "target" in the Canvas, dbl click the timeline clip to bring it up in your Viewer. In the Viewer window, click the Motion tab and the first option will be Scale. Slide it up. Move the clip around as necessary to keep the target in your sights.

This forum rocks

I was just coming here to ask this question - and there it is (with an answer) at the top of the list.

Many thanks!
