How to: Zero out the clock?

Is there a way to zero out the clock in the canvas? What I want to do is set my clock to 00:00:00:00 at the first frame of video. Everytime I do this, its jumping the playhead back to the very begining of the piece which is not what I want. I guess I am asking if there is a way to switch from timecode to COUNTER so I can zero the clock any where I want in the timeline.
