How to wear a rycote softie

forgive my ignorance, but is it important that the mic should go all the way into the softie or i can i leave one inch or something. it's mounted on the camera and i want it out of the frame, so trying to make the back of the mic heavier to balance it back.

mic doesn't have to be all the way in. Softie is just a material with bunch of spider webs inside. It covers the mic...you are fine not a rocket science:)
