I mean when I render it into a dvd file, and look at it using media player or powerdvd, the image looks powdered, like a slight white fog over it, I saw dvd from blockbuster b4, it don't have fog over it. How can I make it like the dvd from blockbuster.... you know, like clear and nice, not cloudy/foggish. I am using V5. thanks

It's probably the humidity. Do you know what the humidity was in your room when you burned the dvd? If it's over 70% then you will have fog issues....

really? humidity affects it? that sounds funny.

what techniques to fix it pookie? dehumidify with AC? or settings in V5?

what dvd zone are you rendering out from? sometimes that can happen when you try to play a dvd from a zone other than your own.

blockbuster makes all their dvds using stamped glass. its better and faster that way (no moisture) then having to burn them from a cpu.

Okay.....And on the serious side--it sounds like you need to adjust your gamma curves a bit to kick up the contrast and crush your blacks. Add a Color Curves plugin at track level. The default curve is a straight line, but you need to pull it into an "S" shape. Using the "handle" at the top of the curve pull it to the left a little and pull the bottom "handle" a little to the right. So instead of a straight line at a 45 degree angle, you'll have a slight "S" shape at a similar angle. Experiment with these controls until you like what you see (on a production monitor hopefully). This'll increase your contrast, darken your blacks, and keep your highlights from blowing out. You image should "pop" and and lessen any haze or veiling glare. *After* adjusting your gamma curve, you can use a color corrector plugin to adjust your saturation and color balance. So the final product will have a nice crisp image closer to a commercially produced DVD.

I can attest to this. I live in NC and in the summer time it gets very hot and muggy outside. When I render then burn a DVD with the windows open, sometimes there's like a weird glaze on the picture. I usually have to close the windows and dehumidify the house.....the re-rerender and reburn the DVD. That *usually* fixes the problem.

Oh...sometimes there's also condensation on the disc itself that causes the fog effect. Just wipe the DVD off with a soft cloth. Don't worry about asking these kinds of questions though.....it is very common to have foggy discs when rendering and burning in the summer time. NC is in the *moist* DVD region of the US.....so us, South Carolina, and Georgia usually have the most problems with DVD fogging / glazing!! Hope that helps,

okay, i'll try all those techniques together.... see what happens, thx for replies ;D
