The first 10 minutes of "Wall-E"(2008) are pretty much a homage to the silent films of yore...

This is a short film by Ted Chung. It's not in color, but as far as I'm concerned, it's one of the best examples of telling a story through images only.

Also "3-Iron" by Kim Ki Duk is an amazing movie where there is no dialogue by the main characters.

Not in color, but for all intents and purposes dialog-free: Tetsuo, the Iron Man.

ELECTROMA by Daft Punk2006. Love it or hate it...man it tells a story. I love it. 2 robots quest to become human. Sick imagery. Worth the rental. One of the Daft Punk dudes bought 200 issues of American Cinematographer to learn/bone up on DPing.

hehe yeah, but the main characters says nothing. There are many great examples in that movie where story is told without words.
