Maybe this is a dumb question, but there are times when I know that in the footage the DVX 100 switch has been bumped and not noticed for a little while from "scene" 6 to 5 meaning 24p Advanced to 24p. This means when I'm capturing later sometimes I can see that it's happened for a little while but I can't always tell just from looking... Sometimes after capturing a lot of footage in the wrong setting which is a pain in the ass. Is there a way to tell or to sample a clip with something that says what it is so I know what point it was switched at? Something that tells me "this clip is 24pA" as opposed to 24p so I know before capturing 4 tapes and then having to go back and re-do it.
I'm using FCP 5.1.4, and I've heard that 6 will take anything into it's timeline regardless and just get it to what you've choosen, but I'd like to capture properly in the first place and for some of these messed up ones I can't always tell from looking which it is. Anyone else ever have this problem and any ideas on how to tell in post (please no snide remarks like "just check before you roll camera what it's set at", it's too late for that, I know I was stupid) Thanks.
