Park the playhead either in the Viewer or the Timeline and Go...
File/Export/QuickTime Conversion... change the Format to Still Image and then click Options to choose your compression

The easiest way is to slide your clip from the browser to the viewer then select FREEZE FRAME in the top menu. You can then export it and save it to what ever folder you want.

No need to select Freeze Frame. Just Export as Still Image. Saves an extra step.
