How to "subtract" time?

I know how to insert time in a given point of the timeline with Insert > Time..., but how cou't you cut some off?

Or how could I select everything after a certain point on the timeline to move it as a group?

There is the selection tool on the tool bar (arrow with a box) or you could turn ripple on.

Or just right click on the clip you want to select and there is an option there that is something like: Select to end

Don't forget though that unless you grouped your audio and video, only the video will move.

I needed to be able to do something like that to re-edit a phonecall after dropping some of Michelle's re-shoots for Vacation... which is posted in the footage section, I am uploading the new cut right now though, so it will be about 20-30 minutes more
so if you look at it now and then later again you'll see why I needed to do that
