Any ideas on how to have the 'squiggly', animated script look as seen thtoughout this video, or specifically at 0:03:

Individual key frames/stop motion. Possibly in PS, handwritten text from a digitizing tablet.

Bayne +1 That would work (although a little to time consuming for me)

Without ever attempting that effect here is the first method I would try:
1. Animate the text to write on.
2. Mesh warp to tweak the text every 2 or 3 frames. Convert the frames to hold frames to get that snap. That should give you the warping look.
3. On the text layer animate the tracking and add a wiggle expression to that. That will jar your spacing around.

That should be it. Might have to play with your key frames and the wiggle expression to get the desired results.

If you have the time you might also check the animated text presets, there might be just that effect in there. Don't know for sure because I never use them so I don't know what effect they have in there. But if you have time to thumb through them you might find it already prebuilt and ready to go.

Thanks for the suggestions.

I checked.... there isn't. There are some that come close but were way too fast & I didn't see a way to adjust the 'wiggle rate'.

Adjusting it will probably be coded. Which ones did you see that were close, I'll take a look at them and tell you how to adjust it.
