How to split screen in Vegas

I was trying to do a split screen style shot, where one side of the screen is showing one thing, and the other side is showing somethind different. A good example can be found here: killswitch.tv/reel

It's during the Unseen video: You can never go home.

If I'm not being clear enough let me know. TIm.

Put the video clips on different tracks. Use the crop tool to split them the way you want -- you'll have to disable the "maintain aspect ratio" and "size about center" buttons on the left (probably), and you may have to change the "stretch to fill frame" and "maintain aspect ratio" under the Source settings, but you should be able to get it to do what you want.

Wow! Talk about an instant tutorial!!! Wish Slimothy were online for this. Thanks!!! I'm copying this for my files.

David, I'm still having a bit of trouble. I'm able to crop the clip, but I'm not able to move it around on screen to the position I want it. For instance, I cropped the clip, put it on a seperate track above the main track and it looks good, but I want to move the cropped clip to the very side, almost like it's a thick moving border (the best way I can describe it. Let me know if I'm confusing.

Your best option might be to use 2D track motion. That's pretty easy -- just pop open the track motion window, grab the square, and move it to where you need it.
