How to split a single audio to two (mono)

Hello,

I'm shooting with the gh2 and record audio by plugging in the Rode NTG-2
of course it's a single audio channel so when I import to FCPX audio only comes out from the right speaker.

Now I changed the Audio Channel to "Dual Mono" in the Inspector but still nothing changed.
I looked for a filter but can't find anything that will change the audio to two channel/mono configure

Can anyone advice me so to change the audio to mono so I can hear the sound from both speakers?

Set Channel Configuration to Dual Mono - which you've already done.

Then a little higher up in the same window set Pan Mode to Stereo Left/Right.

And to adjust each of those two mono tracks independently, right-click the clip and chose "Open In Timeilne". There you'll have access to everything individually within the single clip structure.

Actually you do not want to make a single channel mono into dual channel mono. In fact, if you record dual mono with the same thing on both, normally you delete on. It does not make anything stereo, and can introduce minor phase shift issues. It'll be cleaner if you keep it one channel mono.
