How to seperate Audio from video

Hey guys,

I have hvx200 with p2 workflow.

anyway when I get the video files all loaded up in FCP (I have FCP6), I can't seem to seperate the audio from the video files. Say I want to just use a shot, and keep another video's audio going. Its probably a very simple solution, but I can't find it. Anyway if its been mentioned before I apologize ( I searched and didn't find).
 
better way:

Select the clip you want and press Apple - L

that unlocks the audio and video. i think.
