How To Save A Color Correction Setting?

I am going to start applying color correction to my project but what I want to know is how to create a setting, say a certain amount of saturation or crunching the blacks, and then be able to apply it to an entire segment? This is an 85 minute feature and has four sections representing different times of day and I want them all to have different looks so is there a way to create the color adjustment and then drop the effect on a given section? Otherwise it seems the only way to do it would be to click each clip and do it manually and hope you set the exact numbers right every time....Time consuming as well as hit and miss.

Thanks

You can save the settings as a "Favorite" in the effects bin. Go to FCP help and it will show you how.

Unfortunately, my adobe is corrupt and cannot read the help files in my FCP. Anyone here know how to save these settings?

With the Clip selected, Under the Effects menu choose "Make Favorite Effect"
Now click the Effects Tab in your Browser window, in the Favorites folder you'll see the Color Corrector 3-way favorite- you can rename it whatever you wish.

Also, I would work in individual sequences "sections" and color correct the whole sequence.
Select the range of clips in your Timeline that represent 1 of the 4 sections. From the Sequence menu choose "Nest Items" name the nest. You'll notice you can now apply the Color Correction to that one "clip" in your Timeline and it applies the filter to the entire section. If you double click that "clip" you'll open the Nested Sequence.
