FCP 5 does this automatically- you should have a peek into the manual regarding Qmaster. No previous versions of FCP are capable of it.

Only catch is, FCP on each computer has to have a valid, individual, license. If you load the same license on an other computer and have it running, FCP won't even let you launch it on the second one. It'll pop up and say, "Hey, dude, you have MY license number running on an other computer on this network, WHOH! NO WAY, DUDE!!!!" Or something to that effect. So to run Qmaster, which is awesome and works fantastic, you have to have properly licensed copies of FCP on all the computers on that network.

How does FCP know I am a Dude and not a Babe? Wow, the machines will rule the world.

I guess I also should RTFM, but do both copies of FCP have to be FCP 5?

Could the second computer be running FCP 4.5?
