How to put the extern micro higher?

Hi, I recently got the DVX100AE and have a loooong external micro. I am looking for a piece or a way to put the micro support 5 centimeters higher.

Is there any longer piece that re emplace the one provided that will get me this 5 cm?

Or this two screws on the camera......, are there standard, I mean can you screw there other micros-supports?

Now I use an adapter on the flash shoe, but then when I want to use the camera torch I do not have any place anymore...

Ideas (or links) are welcome.

only thing i can tell you, there are 'splitters' for flash shoe.
Anyway i'm interested in the answers too..

Yeah, that is what I thougth, some king of 5 cm wide splitter, but maybe there is some piece in order to use the provided micro support..

And extension for the side-mount should be easiest enough to make...it might look ugly, though. Just get some 1" / 25mm aluminum stock, cut a length you like, drill some holes, and away you go. :)
