How To Permanently Link Clips

Does anyone know how to link two audio clips so that I can move them around without having to link them every time? I know how to link and unlink clips but for some reason, the audio will not stay linked. I can link the two clips, then move them but if I have to move them later, they become unlinked somehow and I have to re-link them every time. Is there a way to keep them linked? Thank you!!

Make sure you have the audio as a stereo pair and then Modify>Link. They should stay linked if you're doing normal editing operations.

Thank you. I have done that but they still separate. If I highlight both clips and link they, they will stay linked when they are highlighted but if I do something else and come back to them, they unlink.
