How to output 24p footage to DVD and for broadcast?

I just purchased the DVX100a and need to edit footage in Vegas 6 for both cable broadcast and output to DVD.
Should I shoot 24p or 24pa?
How should I capture and edit plain 24p footage in Vegas 6? I understand how to do it with 24pa footage, but am not clear on how to handle 24p.
 
Editing 24pN is exactly the same as editing 24pA.

For editing in a 24p timeline, shooting 24pA makes pulldown removal easier, but once pulldown is removed, 24p is 24p however you got there. Functionally, you'll see absolutely no difference between the two.

That is not true with most other NLEs, but you're not using them; you're using Vegas.
 
Theoretically, because of slight compression differences, 24pA is a little better.

Theoretically. I highly, highly, highly doubt you could tell them apart in the real world.
