How to move a clip...

I consider myself an experienced FCP user but every now and then I come across something that I say to myself...How do I do this!! LOL!

I was working on a project earlier this week where I needed to take a clip from the begining of the timeline and move it to the end. The only thing I knew to do was to highlight the clip and drag it to the end of the sequence. I am sure there is a waay better way to do this than that! LOL!

Also if I need to move a clip from one track to another is the shortcut SHIFT + OPTION then drag up or down to the next track? Seems when I don't use the shortcut, when I proceed to drag the clip up to another track the other tracks spin by so fast that before you know it I am going from V1 to V5 when I wanted to go to V2! If I am not mistaken I think that shortcut allows the clip to go right above the track it originally is on correct?


I should know this stuff!
 
How bout "cut" from beginning, and "paste" at the end of your timeline.

Don't know on the other short cuts...
 
For your first one, you could just do a match frame of the clip at the head, jump to the end of the of the piece and then cut it in (overwrite, insert, etc). Delete/close gap at the start. But I think for something that there's more then one way to skin the cat.

For the second one, I think you're looking for Option + Arrow Up/Option + Arrow Down.
