How to mount a reflector to a boom

Hello,

I have a heavy duty manfrotto boom, and a huge reflector. I figured there were just some clamps in existence that I could buy and just clamp the reflector onto the boom. But it seems you need a reflector arm for that. But isnt there an easyer way? As I do not want an additional arm. Like some clamps I can mount onto the existing boom arm would be great!

thanks!

Something like an Arri Gag Gobo to a mathelini?

Or if your reflector is hard then put a baby plate (or two) on it?

NB some boom arms are larger diameter than the arri gag gobo holds - you might need to get a clamp for larger diameter, manfrotto probably make one.

I have used these Westcott arms for years, though the prices have crept up high enough to seem a bit overpriced. Other outfits like Impact, Photoflex, and Avenger make similar, but shorter. Having said that, they are the handiest things ever. Fits on a 5/8 light stand, adjustable length, adjustable clamp location. I use them to hang collapsible backdrops from a single C-stand and larger reflectors that a standard 40 inch arm is too short for.
