How to mix down to quicktime file?

Hey guys,

I know this may be a dumb question and please excuse me if it is... But I want to mixdown a video project to a relatively lossless format, or at least as lossless as possible. Ive been trying to mix down to quicktime but every time I mix it down to quicktime format I notice lines through out the video that some what resemble DV cam looking footage. Is there anyway to not get these artefacts when mixing down to quicktime? and if not what is the best format to render out to?

Thanks guys

What codec are you using with Quicktime? The 'Animation' codec is lossy, but it will be a huge file. 'ProRes' is probably a better choice for you.

Are you mixing down to an interlaced format?

Animation codec creates huge files. If your source is DSLR or other compressed files, ProRes or DNxHD or Cineform will be just fine.
