How to match MagicBullet with Vegas

Hi, I've been using MagicBullet for Vegas and I really like certain looks. Because of the long render times, I'm trying to match the looks with Vegas 3-color corrector. Though I really am having problems with matching. It seems no matter how I drag the colors, it doesn't even come close to MB. Can anyone help me?

thanks

Re: How to match MagicBullet with Vegas

yea, that seems very helpful, but thing is, I'd prefer to learn on my own on how to color correct anyways, i think its a very valuable skill to have in the long run - especially since oyu can create your own looks for any situation and not rely on presets

Re: How to match MagicBullet with Vegas

MBullet you footage. Split screen it with your color correcting and start from there. it is actually pretty easy to match most of MB. The only thing that isnt easy is the Black and White diffusions. I have tried glow and it isnt bad but doesnt really work for black diffusion. Maybe someone will have a good idea or come up with a new plug in. MB render times are too much.

Hudson sneaks in with another Smiley. We've got to keep an eye on this guy. ;D

Re: How to match MagicBullet with Vegas

thanks arcburn - yea, im working on it as we speak, maybe I'll post some results after a while

Re: How to match MagicBullet with Vegas

Arcburn - I'm new to Vegas and I did a split screen view and MB my footage. When I pulled up a color corrector - it was modifying the MB footage half rather than other unmodified half - what am I doing wrong?

thanks man

Re: How to match MagicBullet with Vegas

sounds like you are running the color corrector plug in on the whole lot. you can color correct on the individual video track, or even the individual clip. try that.

Re: How to match MagicBullet with Vegas

thanks Arcburn - sorry dont mean to sound like a dumbass - I was clicking on Event FX on the video timeline for a certain clip and tried to color correct on teh individual clip - same thing, one side stays original and the other side has MB footage + my color correcting...not sure what to do

thanks in advanced

Re: How to match MagicBullet with Vegas

hmm, I think I figured it out - when you MB your footage, you actually have to render it out and then do color correction to match the new footage right? Or is that not necessary at all and I'm just missing something?

Re: How to match MagicBullet with Vegas

yeah render a magic bullet version. then split screen the MB rendered version with the normal version and color correct the normal. hope that makes sense

Re: How to match MagicBullet with Vegas

Do a search on the net - surley someone somewhere's done a couple of free plugins that match vegas to MB...?

Re: How to match MagicBullet with Vegas

thanks - I did a capture frame and then just used clipboard to do the matching - that works too

David Jimerson, a Moderator of this forum, posted some of his results back in Sept. They looked pretty promising. As I recall, he was looking to charge $15 or so for them. About 6 weeks ago, he was called off the project by other urgent work. I haven't heard from him since.
