How to make rendering process faster

Hi,

i get my new pc.

RAM: 16GB
Processor: Intel Core7 3GHz
OS: Win 7 64bit
Tool: Sony Vegas 9.0 Pro 64 bit

Sony is a very noce tool and work fast. But the rendering time for example for a PAL Template takes too long.

My Footage is 1080i.

How could i win time?

wow, your machine is a beast compared to my little 2gb ram core 2 duo 2.0ghz lappy.

What kinda times are you taking?

Ive noticed with light grading im getting about 2.5-3 hours for about 5 mins of footage.

Ungraded is more like 1.5 hour

Hi Jon,

i have a 4 minute clip. And i'm using Levels, Saturation and Curves on some Channels.

It crashes sometimes or it stay at 12%.. I dont know it how much time, but i would say some hours.. I will rin today over the night :=)

What you mean with light grading? Do you mean using fx for example like curves or levels?
 
I found out, that i can not render .mov files. My system is allways crashing or stopp working at 12%.

I tryied now to render same template but as avi. Result: 9 minutes.

I would like to render my movie as mov.

Could somebody help me to solve my issue with .mov files? Im using QuickTime Player 7.6.5
 
I think its better to make a new topic because the title here is: how to make rendering faster..
