How to make my film anamorphic instead of letterbox

I exported my movie, brought it to iDVD, but it comes out in 4:3 frame with a 16:9 letterbox. How can I export it so that it is in its standard 16:9 ratio?
I shot with DVX100 on the number 5 24p setting.

Any help here would be hot.

Did you shoot squeeze or letterbox- that determine whether or not the footage can be made into anamorphic 16:9. Squeeze yes, letterbox no.
