how to make graphic supers on Vegas 6

Hello all. How could I make those bars with names on em like they have in interviews on television with Vegas? What is the simplest way? Also what is the correct terminology for it?

I do those in Photoshop usually as png's and then import them.

They are called lower-third titles the graphics can be created with photoshop or you can also buy third party stuff. Look at VASST training books and videos by Douglas Spotted Eagle he goes over how-to for the Vegas. www.vasst.com

You can look over the Gradients in the Media Generator. Adapting one of them is the simplest way. Not to say it's the best way, but the simplest.

Easiest and cleanest way would be thru photoshop i think. The photoshop route has cleanest edges on text and graphic elements. Just my experience.

When you create those in PhotoShop what resolution do you create them at? 72 dpi?
