how to make automatic audio/video fades?

Hi all, quick question. I edit lots of footage regularly and it all falls into the same pattern of needing the audio/video to fade in from mute/black at the beginning of the clip, and fade to mute/black at the end of the clip. I create regions for all my clips and use a script to render out all regions, and right now I manually add the fades but it would be cool if there was some way to automatically have it do them at render time. Is there any way to do this? EDIT: I'm using Vegas Video 9.0 Pro x64.
 
For doing something like this, I would guess you're looking at scripting. I haven't got into using scripts in Vegas yet, so unfortunately I don't know where to point you. You may want to have a look at Vegas Production Assistant as well - it bills itself as being able to automate/batch different parts of the workflow, so maybe that would work for you too.
