Hi guys,

Last time I was using SD442, I used the 10 pin hiroes hook up a camera, and used the XLR output below to feed to my H4N, which gave me all the backup for JUST IN CASE.

With the work I have been taking are more mobile and running wild, I got my SD302, it's perfectly find with me but I am just wondering if I want to make a backup recording which way is better,

IS the MIX out port, which I can make my own split cable from 3 pin mini xlr split to 2 big XLR then plug to H4N, Is the sound gonna be stereo or just down mixed to one track ?

Or I can split my ear phone jack, then out from mini jack to XLR...( sounds a bit silly)

Any other way to make a backup record ?

Thanks in advance guys

Hiro

The Mix out is a TA3 stereo unbalanced.
Pin 1 would be ground, 2 is left, 3 is right.
For a short cable run the unbalanced nature of it won't be a problem.

Thanks Rippie! I got it. I thought the mix out is kind of mixed audio from two channel down to one channel mixed.

SO basically, there is no problem to split the TA3 to two XLR then...

Thanks, I will go and get my cable made asap.

FYI - the Mix Out sends its signal at -10dBV consumer line level

Hiro Nakamura, you should be able to travel to the future, find the answer and bring it back to present day. Avoid space time continuum shifts. :)
