How to lock & protect a quicktime file?

I am sending a person a DVD with raw footage on it. How can I protect and lock the footage so that it cannot be edited.

an example I like is iTunes. When purchasing a movie through iTunes you cannot edit or extract the video. But the viewer is still able to view it.

Does anyone know how to accomplish this? much appreciated.

You can pay itunes or microsoft for DRM or you can just have your lawyer sue them for using the footage. Suing them makes you money, paying for DRM costs you money.

First thing you should do is watermark all of the footage.

have a line in the middle or something with slightly greyed out text that says "this footage is not authorized for distribution"

Don't give them full quality either, unless it's needed for more post production.

Then put your company logo/number in the corner, or slate the beginning and ends of it.

In terms of a format that is un-editable. Everything can be converted and edited, including stuff with DRM

If you want security through obscurity, compress in flash video format, and make a webpage auto play for easy viewability.

Flash video still can be converted, but you need specific tools to do so.

Hope that helps.
