how to light with natural light

Hi Everyone

I have an interview to shoot where the location has a large window.
I assume I would use the window light as my Key and fill in the subjects other side with a reflector or white board, setting my white balance for daylight?

1) What would any of you suggest I use for additional lights and 2) if I were to use a key or fill with a chimera what would you recommend I balance for Day or Tungsten?

Thanks in advance

If your window will not appear on camera but serve as your key, you can try a few different ways of going about this.
If your planning on using a Chimera on your light(as fill) MY PERSONAL taste is to have my fill slightly warmer than my key. I often use 1/2 CTB gel over the face of the Chimera (When used with tungsten light sources.)
The use of a large bounce card 4x4 ft or 4x8 ft would certainly be helpful as fill , and depending on the look you want, adding a small 150 watt fresnel for a hair light and a light deep in the background to light up a wall, background detail or some architectural element. Placing a pattern or cuculoris type frame in front of your background may also "Breakup" the light for a pleasing effect.
You might also experiment with your "Key" window light by using tracing paper,a shower curtain liner, or some other thin, transparent fabric to soften the light even more, rather than harsh, hot light.
Good luck.
P.S. Balance for Daylight if you do indeed use the window as your key

Thanks for your response FILMAT11
The client has informed me of not wanting to look too blue can I still achieve this with using the window as Key and mixing the lighting with tungsten?

Thanks again

as filmat suggested u can use 1/2 ctb on ur lights and balance for daylight.that way whichever light u choose to gel will be slightly warmer than daylight giving a pleasing effect( in my opinion) U can even be as bold as not even gelling ur hair light and leaving it raw tungsten for an even warmer look(balanced to daylight) This is all based on taste....so experiment and see what u like.
