How to import SDHC to Final Cut Pro

So I just picked up an EX1 and I'm going to shot with the SDHC cards. While testing out the rig I realized I have no idea how to import the footage!

I tried putting the sdhc card directly into my mac book pro but i'm just seeing all these weird files.

Have been doing google searches and can't find out how. Whats the best workflow for this ?

Thanks

I don't know about the EX1, but my camera shoots in AVCHD. If you want to make a copy of the card, create a directory on your computer's drive and copy the content of the SDHC card to your computer. Then, in FCP, under File use Log and Transfer. That will show you each shot in the directory and you can select all or just the ones you want in the Log and Transfer window.

You can do this directly from the card too.

Thanks for the answer.

What is really cool is the import is the same as a SxS card. What I did was first transfer the card to the hard drive. Then imported using the Sony plug-in in final cut pro.

I like using this method and sdhc cards because it helps keep the hours lower on the camera, which is always a good thing!
