How to identify 1.5G SDI cable vs 3G SDI cable?

Hi, I have a bunch of SDI cables lying around. Some of them 1.5G and some of them are 3G. Is it possible to tell them apart?

In general the killer is the connectors - and they tend to be sold in 3G or 12G versions while digital cables are usually 12G capable - and it's only at the extreme cable lengths the specs become more important. In the UK, I like the canford SDV-L cables, which is what they sell on the made up cables, with Neutrik 12G capable connectors - but the cable isn't designated 12G, or 3G - simply video and then with a particular spec - so capacitance in pF and attenuation figure that get very large when lengths get a bit silly at the higher frequencies. If the connectors are identifiable, that's where to check - if they're bog standard old fashioned unmarked and soldered pin BNCs - then 3G might be a bit of a struggle on longer lengths.
