How to get widescreen with a 35 mm adaptor

Ok so here's the thing. I've been told that the anamorphic adaptor and a 35 mm adaptor like the letus35 or sgpro or brevis etc cannot be used simultaneously with the dvx100b.

So how do I manage to get widescreen along with an extra low depth of field?

Is the squeeze mode of sufficient resolution for blowing to film?

Or are there any specefic anamorphic lenses available for the 35 mm SLR lenses that I can put on the 35mm adaptor, and which can perform the same function as that of the anamorphic adaptor. If so, is it affordable for a puaper like me who has just spent his life savings on a DVX, a PC, a lighting kit and a spider brace?

Could somebody please help me out here.

There are anamorphic 35mm lenses, that's what the pros use. They are very expensive to rent or buy, but they are out there.

You can use SQUEEZE mode. Do you really think there is a film out in your future? That's usually not a concern, especially if you're on a budget.

Thanx
We were able to get a deal for video distribution based on the script and will probably be able to sell the work to a TV channel. Having the option if a blow-up to film would have really helped.

Continuing on this question...
On a DVX100E, which cannot shoot in squeeze mode, how does a mini35 work?

youll have to use letterbox mode and crop it in post(you lose resolution).

mini35's are IMHO ratio agnostic. its the cam's CCDs that determines that. otherwise an anamrphic adapter gives you a squeezed image that you will have to place in between your cam and the mini35 or in front of the 35mm lens your using with the mini35. You then "unsqueeze" it in post.
