Want to emulate this look, with blue moonlight in foreground against warm orange light ( I do have an 500 watt Omni Light with a photoflex softbox, a 200 watt Lowel pro-light, and a photoflood style light with an umbrella).
Want to do the look in camera (please don't try and convince me to do it in post- I doubt Ill ever go that route).
is it best to...
balance to daylight (letting any tungsten go warm), and use a double blue gel on the Omni to get the moonlight? Does a double blue gel cut my 500 watts more significantly than a regular blue?
or:
Should I balance to tungsten (giving me my moonlight with a CTB gel), and use a warm filter for any lights sources i want warm/orange? If I'm balanced to Tungsten, does a CTO gel give me orange, or do I need lets say, a stronger orange color like a vivid orange special effect type gel or something- or maybe double orange (forgive the basic nature of that question)?
I'm realizing this question has a lot to do with the nature of gels.
Thanks in advance.
