How to get 16:9 in mov files?

No matter what settings I try my mov files always end up 4:3 when exported out of Vegas.

My wmv files always display 16:9 so what is the trick to get mov files to display properly?

Re: How to get 16:9 in mov files?

I had the same problem. I created my own preset, with custom frame size in 16x9 aspect ratio. I used 436x240 pixels (same as preview display size when I dock it to the bottom part of Vegas workspace).

Hope it helps.

So do I. :-[ It's habit. I've been using it since it was called Sonic Foundry Video Factory 1.0. I don't know any other way. ;D

Re: How to get 16:9 in mov files?

It’s the one thing about Vegas which is counterintuitive to me, having the preview on the bottom. I wouldn’t have the computer monitor under my keyboard, so, I don’t like having the preview window under the timeline. I’m so glad they “fixed” this issue in V5. Now, if we could only get that background rendering . . .

Yep. The small production house I worked for at the time had it on their audio machine and I used it as a second edit bay when the DPS Velocity machine was occupied. I've used it ever since.
