How to fix noise blue channel in Vegas

Okay, gents: I KNOW this was discussed before, and that I should do a search on this, but searching for 'blue' and 'noise' gives so much unrelated stuff, I am posting this here again:

I did some test shots for the zombie fest (yay!). I used the 'paint with your DVX doc' I found on the net a while ago, and came up with a really nice scary look for night scenes. The only trouble is with saturated dark blues - they are noisy as hell.

Barry, David, John (or any other gurus out there): In case I don't manage to get rid of blue noise in camera, are there any techniques you would recommend for removing (or limiting) it in post using Vegas?

Thanks for your input!

Jerry

You can add a slight gaussian blur to the blue channel only.

Or you can try a chroma blur.

But these will be limits, not removals.

What's this "paint with your DVX"? Some killer effect you can do in camera, I'm assuming, but never heard of it.

Jerry--The blue channel is always going to be the noisiest because of the nature of CCD's, so I think you're better off doing a capture with a normal color balance and grading in post.

Well, I am filming at dusk in a park, and have this special light that is probably close to 2600K. I can't use the 3200K preset - that would be too warm. So I have to white balance, and things just become blue, even if I use the 'neutral' chroma settings. I guess I'll try David's suggestion to see what I can squeeze out of the picture.
