I did my 1st edit & everything is done but now I need to fit 15 mins video to precisely within 10 mins, I was thinking that select all clips & drag them to left will make the time line shorter but I was wrong, it doesn't work like that.

Any way out? or do I have to re-edit the entire time line (34 clips)

Not sure what you mean.

You want to 15 minutes of video sped up to 10 minutes?

Or you have 10 minutes of video spread out over a 15 minute timeline (with 5 minutes of gaps) and want to get rid of all the gaps?

Yes I have 15 mins video without any gaps & want it to speed up to 10 mins, so the final file playable time should be 10 mins only.

You can always just render the original 15 min sequence as uncompressed, import it back it and speed it up until it's 10 min in length.

Ok so what uncompressed format should I choose for rendering, something like HDV 720?

I was hoping this can be done in single step within vegas but cant find any such option.

Yeah, if you don't want to update the Playback Rate on each individual clip, I think you'll have to do it in two steps - render (as uncompressed AVI as suggested above), and then alter the playback rate of that output file.

A little late to the party, but if this is Vegas Pro. Then just open a new project and use the veg file from the original project (nested vegs) - there is no need to render the original project.

Rich never too late,
good to know that the method exist, I somehow felt that there must be such method bcoz I have heard some editors talking about fitting scenes in a specific time slot. Ii will try soon.

Thanks
