How to fake a fish eye lens?

Hi Guys, I need to find a very cheap way to fake a fish eye lens. I'm trying to get the look one would get looking out of a door peep hole, so it dosn't have to be real clear but it does need to look like the camera, a HVX200 is looking out the door peep hole. It is a one shot shoot plus extra takes for back up and I know that peep holes really distort what you see anyway, so even a piece of glass that gives that fish eye look held in front of the lens would work here. Any ideas anyone?

You can find a cheap consumer one for probably less than $50. Experiment with one of those, and see if zooming into it (because it won't be very big) will work.

Perhaps I'll take one of my cameras down to the local photo store and try a few of those out. Anyone else got any ideas on this?

Seems like I remember a thread about someone shooting through an oversized peephole for a similiar effect. Was like $10 at the hardware store or something. I'll see if I can't find it.

put like a tissue tube up to the lens and shoot through it and then use a pucker plug in to distort the image. Cut the tube so its not too long.
