Run the deck or the camcorder via firewire on VCR. Make sure there is a miniDV inside your deck! ;D. Open FCP and load your project then click on File - Print to video!
I had trouble printing to video until I clicked the checkmark for "Auto-start recording" or something like that in the PTV dialog box. Then it worked fine.
