How to export to a mini DV tape??

Well, I searched this around, but couldn't find an answer...

Does anyone know if it's possible to render my video from Vegas straight to a mini DV tape? What I want to do is to send a part of the film to a friend's computer so it can be edited in FCP. I don't want to lose any quality, of course. I have already gone to "tools" and "print video to tape", but that's where I'm stuck. How do I set up my camera? If I put it on record mode, Vegas rejects it. Any ideas?

I'm not at a machine with Vegas at the moment, but here goes... You're on the right track; Hook up the camera via Firewire. Put the camera in the "deck" or "playback" mode. Go through the steps in the "print video to tape" mode in Vegas. At some point it will have you select between automatically starting the recording or to manually start recording on the camcorder. Choose manual and continue, you will eventually get a countdown screen; start the countdown, hit record on the camcorder and away it goes. There will be no loss of quality since it's just a straight file transfer from the hard drive to the camcorder's tape.
