I want to export a .mov specificly, but at my aspect ratio! With no black bars... just the film. Is this even possible?
Its quite time sensitive so any help would be great. This seems like a really basic feature... export with no matting. Any ideas??

Yes, you should check stretch video to fill output frame size (do not letterbox) when you go to render. This take care of the problem.

Thank you for the post, but this does not rid the project of the the black bars. The matting is still there. :(

Can you be more specific? What are your project settings (NTSC, NTSC 24p, NTSC 24p Widescreen ???), and what preset do you use to render as *.mov?

You may need to modify your preset because I don't know if quicktime can output non-square pixels (I might be wrong, though).

If your project setting are NTSC 24p widescreen, and you select 'Simulate device aspect ratio' on the preview, you may have display size 436x240 (for example).

If you go to 'Render as...' dialog, select Quicktime as the type, and then select a template (I use a fairly low bandwidth - 50 or 100 kbps), then click on 'Custom...' button, go to the Video tab, select '(Custom Frame Size)' and enter the same width and height your preview display size is (in the example above, 436 by 240). That should take care of the problem.

You can save that as your own template for future use.
