How to export DVX squeeze mode

Hey everybody.

I recently switched over to using squeeze mode on my DVX. Problem is when I export the file and play it in quicktime it still shows a 4:3 image. Basically, the squeeze is squished vertically again.

I'm looking to export for the purpose of an anamorphic dvd and internet streaming (ala Youtube, Vimeo, etc).

Also, I don't think that iDVD doesn't have a mode for anamorphic dvd, so should I use DVD Studio Pro 4 (which I have lying around but have used or loaded yet).

Used DVDSP4. It will give you better control over not only the aspect of the video, but the bitrate, interlacing, etc etc. You should be able to produce a better looking DVD after some trial and error.

To export I always force the size. I use FILE - EXPORT - QT CONVERSION... then choose something like broadband high.... hit the options button and then SIZE. I change size to 480x270 - you can pick something else, but make sure the 16:9 ratio is correct. You must remember that squeeze mode is still 720x480. Anamorphic means (here) that a post process is going on that squeezes the video, but it is still 720x480. Why that tag doesn't transfer elsewhere has been an Apple mystery for a LONG time!!

As for iDVD (I agree with the DVDSP comment above.... but...) use FILE EXPORT QT MOVIE... self-contained or not - CURRENT SETTINGS... then, drop THAT file on THIS:

Anamorphicizer.

TAKE THAT file into iDVD and it should work fine now.

Good luck,

Hmm I downloaded that program but when ever I bring it up it disappears before a screen is ever shown.

It's a droplet. Drag the saved movie file ONTO that droplet app and you'll get a new file. Sorry -- Wasn't too clear, was I!!???
