How to export Anamorphic footage at 16:9?

Hey,

So I was handed this anamorphic footage, shot on a PD170 I think, and asked to edit it and export.

Since I'm still new to FCP I don't fully understand it.

When I click Export the footage comes out as 4.3 but naturally needs to be 16.9.

i'm clueless I know, please help an old dog out!

It is 16:9- its just in a 4:3 box waiting to be unsqueezed on display. If you mean you want a 16:9 shaped QuickTime file, go into your export settings and change the size of the frame to 853x480.

noah.. i did not know that. i always change my exported 16:9 files to 853 x 480 now, thinking that if i didnt, it wouldnt display correctly on tv.. but.. that is not correct? hm.. interesting. good to know.
