how to edit a dvd?

i am trying to bring a dvd into fcp to make a demo of all the footage i have but can not seem to edit the files easily. the copied files are these .bup .vob .ifo files. i just would like to edit the movie as a whole on one track on the time line. anybody have any ideas?
