How to do this look

Ive seen it many times, but I just dont recall where Ive seen it done, only the Selena Gomez music video.

Looks like they are shooting through a piece of glass and getting these glares or reflections. Or like shooting through a prism.
The other effect is not something im as interested in, but would still like to know. It could be achieved with the same method, not sure. Its the duplication of the image in the same frame.

Seen here:
@0:47-0:49 ~ the reflections/glares
@0:55-0:56 ~ the reflections/glares
@0:48-0:50 ~ The double image

IMO: Post prod in some cases and maybe some foreground "distortion" shot thru glass objects.

I have a collection of jars, vases, warped glass,weird glass..just for this purpose.

Basically layers and blending plus photographic technique.

If I remember this is an Alexa and Anamorphic promo, so some of the lens aberrations/flare etc can also be part of the nature of the glass it's shot on.

Wow I'm just amazed by the video clip... So professional and skillful (and expensive)
Shows me I still have a very long way to go and to learn :)

Some of it can be done optically, but I'm guessing it was done in post just to nail the timing and placement. Happy accidents are nice, but so many projects have the anamorphic lens flares added in post, because many directors wants get that look without the hassle of actually shooting anamorphic.

The flares at :41 are very cool, but feel like they were added later to me as well.

There are specialty "Prismatic" type lenses available that were used back in the 1960's for a "Psychedelic" look. Roger Corman used them in certain scenes in his 1967 movie "The Trip". There are some examples in the trailer at about the 2:00 mark. They are hard to make out in the low res trailer on YouTube, but here you go.

From the music video though I think that most of the effects were done in post. They are so subtle and "Shaped". That would be hard to do optically; especially on a fast paced music video shoot. I do like Shooters idea about collecting bottles and glass to shoot through though.
